Our Tapes
Yep, our Custom Cassettes are totally playable on any standard cassette player! đ§ Choose from 60-min colourful tapes đ or 90-min Maxell classics.
We test every tape before it ships to ensure it sounds as good as it looks.
Want a tape just for aesthetics?
We do also offer blank âNo-Audioâ variants that you can still personalize with QR codes linking to playlists, videos, or tracklists. Great for gifts on a budget!
You bet. You can send us a Spotify, YouTube/YT Music, or Apple Music links. đś Weâll hit record and bring your playlist to life, analog-style.
đ¨Please NOTE: Just make sure each side stays under 30 minutes (60-min tape) or 45 minutes (90-min tape). Even going over by 20â30 seconds can delay your order while we contact you to adjust it.
For example, 30:40 is still over 30 mins đ
Cassette tapes have two fixed sides, and songs donât split evenly at the halfway mark.
To ensure your tape fits properly and avoids delays, we recommend organizing your tracks into Side A and Side B before submitting.

⨠Our no-audio tapes are great for sharing playlists or greetings without recorded audio. Personalize with a tracklisting, cover art, and/or a QR code. Budget-friendly and still super cute.
NOTE: With no-audio tapes, there are no time limits (or sides!). Since nothing is recorded, there are zero length restrictions â your playlist can be as long or as short as youâd like.

Our Gear
Our signature portable cassette player with a built-in speaker đ and bundled Ear-Pawds (a.k.a. headphones đ§). Itâs opaque, retro-cute, and fully functionalâjust like your favourite 90s walkman, but more fun.
Yep! Every Roar cassette player comes bundled with a set of Ear-Pawds (a.k.a. headphones) đžđ§. Theyâre plug-and-play, retro-cute, and tested to pair perfectly with your mixtape sessions. Prefer a higher-end option? Check out our Creamium Ear-Pawds for extra punch, clarity and Bluetooth (when paired and used with a phone/laptop).
These are the fun-loving wired headphones bundled with The Roar! đž They include an in-line volume control that works with our cassette players and a standard 3.5mm mini-jack plug (we also include USB-C adapters in our bundles). Theyâre comfy, durable, and deliver solid sound with a touch of flair. Cat-ear add-ons sold separately. Meow!
These Bluetooth-compatible beauties come with super comfy cream-coloured padding, soft silicone ear add-ons (optional upgrade), and sound so good they even replaced our founderâs JVCs. đ§ They can be used wired with our players or wireless with your phone or laptop.
Note: The on-ear EQ and volume control only work in Bluetooth mode when paired with a phoneânot when plugged into a cassette player.
Shipping and Handling
That depends on what bells and whistles you choose:

đ¨ With hand-coloured art or video: 5â6 days⌠before shipping.
We test every tape before shipping, so your analog goodness arrives in top shape.
We sure do! đ Orders ship from Canada. Rates vary by location and are calculated at checkout.
US: Shipping w/ pre-paid duty/tariffs back in full effect đ¤
International: Shipped tracked (<- most countries) via Canada Post. Subject to local VAT/Customs fees on arrival.
Our Roar Bundle (Custom Cassette + The Roar player and Ear-Pawds) ships FREE in Canada! đž. All other items and destinations are calculated based on weight and location.
Because most of our items are custom-made, we do not offer returns unless your product arrives damaged or defective.
If somethingâs wrong with your order:
- Contact us within 7 days of delivery
- Include photos if possible
- Weâll do our best to make it right â whether thatâs a replacement, store credit, or refund (case-by-case)

Troubleshooting & Care
Cassettes donât sound quite like CDs or digital streamsâand thatâs part of the charm! đď¸ Expect warm, analog playback with the occasional hiss (just like our cats!) or warble (when theyâve had too much catnip). We use quality equipment, test our tapes, and stand by their sound quality, but results can vary slightly depending on your player.
𧽠Use a cassette deck cleaning kit now and then to clear dust off the playback heads. Keep your player away from heat, moisture, and magnetic fields. If the sound gets muffled or weird, itâs often a sign the heads need a gentle clean.
Avoid putting them in your mouth. Kidding, of course! Honestly, great question.𧾠The most common culprits are dirty tape heads, faulty auto-stop mechanisms, or worn-out pinch rollers in older players. If you hear unusual tension noises or the reels stop spinning, stop playback right away and check the tape inside of the player before continuing.
𧽠It happens! đż Gently wind the tape back in using a pencil or your finger. If itâs crinkled, you can sometimes smooth it by carefully unspooling a bit and pressing it flat. But if itâs badly damaged, give us a shout and weâll try to help.
